Seeks long-term growth of capital.
The Royce Pennsylvania Mutual Fund is Royce's flagship fund. The Fund's assets are invested in the equity securities of small- and micro-cap companies that are trading significantly below management's estimate of their current worth, based chiefly on balance sheet quality and cash flow levels. The Fund generally invests in companies that management believes have excellent business strengths, high internal rates of return and low leverage. These tend to be higher-quality stocks, especially those with pristine balance sheets. Royce & Associates has utilized a disciplined value approach to invest in smaller companies for more than 35 years. Portfolio manager Chuck Royce uses his small-cap expertise to run a mixed strategy, using both company specific and sector earnings prospects to outperform the Russell 2000 Index. Management tends to stick with companies it has tracked for years, rather than newer, less familiar names. They believe these orientations will provide the most stability during market turmoil. The portfolio is broadly diversified by both company and industry in an attempt to reduce risk.

| The Overall Morningstar Rating™ for the underlying fund is derived from a weighted average of the performance figures associated with its three-, five- and 10-year (if applicable) Morningstar Rating™ metrics. The rating formula most heavily weights the three year rating, using the following calculation: 100% three-year rating for 36-59 months of total returns, 60% five-year rating/40% three-year rating for 60-119 months of total returns, and 50% 10-year rating/30% five-year rating/20% three-year rating for 120 or more months of total returns. Rating does not include the effects of sales charges, loads, and redemption fees. Past performance does not guarantee future results. Ratings are as follows: 3yr=4; 5yr=4; 10yr=4.
